The other is to win the game without having a past. One is to deliver the last load of salt lion stones without having selected a past. Originally posted by Psyringe:There are two Steam achievements that can only be gotten by having no past. Visage is repeatable for 250 echoes (and -10 terror) if you know the right story options Port Cecil will let you grab 1-3 scintillack for free (sells for 70 each in London) high-quality spy networks in Khan's Heart or Port Carnelian will consistently serve up Vital Intelligence (350 to the Admiral, or 500-600 to the Diplomat), though you'll have to keep repairing the network etc. Of course, there's various port options where you can basically get free money from Something Awaits You. Those last 4 are repeatable but not "stackable" (you can't pick up more cargo if you already have some). Hauling "Trinkets" from Savior's Rocks to London rewards 100 echoes for 0 cargo space and 0 up-front cost (due to what is probably a bug, the "trinkets" have a chance to break loose if you DO have cargo security, but never break loose if you have NO cargo security) Delivering a passenger from Mangrove College rewards 100 echoes (to Port Cecil) or 120 (to Gaider's Mourn) for 1 cargo space and 0 up-front cost Hauling Clay Men to London rewards 120 echoes for 6 cargo space with 0 up-front cost (If you fail, you still get 100 echoes per colonist.) Keeping all the colonists is complicated, though see the wiki. The Last Tour in Venderbight awards you 1500 echoes and a Judgements' Egg (sell value: 600 in Polytreme) if you can keep all 12 colonists alive, and is repeatable with 7 each of Tale of Terror, Zee-ztory, and Memory of Distant Shores. Once you complete the storyline in the Isle of Cats, you can buy Red Honey there for 600 echoes and Something Awaits, then sell it for 999 to the Brass Embassy in London (if you can avoid customs searches) or 650 in Gaider's Mourn (if you want to be paranoid) Smuggling sunlight is VERY profitable (buy empty mirrorcatch boxes, take them up to the surface to fill them, then sell them in London or the Isle of Cats), but increases Menaces: Yearning, Burning pretty rapidly until it becomes unsafe to continue Caskets of Sapphires can be bought for 86 echoes in Port Carnelian and sold for 99 in the Chelonate (13 profit one-way, but there isn't an obvious cargo for the reverse route) Dropdrop Coffee from Adam's Way (38 echoes) turns into Parabola-Linen in Irem, which sells for 63 echoes back in Adam's Way (25 echo profit per cargo space) You'll lose crew, so you want to bring as many crew as possible, and fuel costs 15 echoes up there, so you want to carry a lot with you. go up to the surface and haul cargo through the story options there. If you really want to run cargo, some options are: I'd focus on collecting port reports and advancing your storylines. Hauling cargo is generally not very profitable unless you have a large hold AND a lot of money to invest up-front. (On the other hand, high crew is expensive, because you go through supplies faster.) I've heard stories of people who died because they were attacked by assassins and lost 4 crew at once I know of one special circumstance where it's possible to lose up to 11 in a single shot. Remember that running with low crew is dangerous because if your crew hits zero you die. It's the best tool out there if you have questions.and Sunless Sea certainly gives you a great many without the answers. You should reference the Sunless Sea wikia. Never really played as a pastless character. Maybe do those or just go to other islands and find some more. Check your journal and see if you have any active quests. There's absolutely nothing in particular you should be doing. That and you can use an aft weapon because it takes a long time for your ship to manuver. However, if you outfit it with the best engines and the right officers, it's really not so bad. The hold is insane, but it's slow as all hell. If you're trying to make money and want to haul stuff around, I also use the merchant ship from time to time. Here's an example of one of my older ships. If you already have the nice weapons and engine, definately go with the new ship. If you do choose to buy the this, try to buy a nice engine or weapon with it. Perfect compromise between the Hold, Hull Strength, and Speed. Personally, I think the Corvette is the best ship in the game. It's all in what you're comfortable with.
